About Jade

Jade is a professional tattoo artist and emerging fine artist living and creating on Awabakal Country (Newcastle, Australia.) Jade has over 10 years experience creating high quality and colourful tattoos. Over this time she has developed her style which focuses on flora and fauna, in particular, whimsical  Australian native flora and fauna. Australia’s unique muted landscape colours inform Jade’s work. Matching these colours with the vastly different tones of each person’s skin is also a focus of her work. Jade strives to imbue magic and whimsical themes within the work if the client is open to it. She provides a service to anyone, over the age of 18, which allows them to express their love for nature, totems, to signify special memories or loved ones in their skin for the rest of their lives.

Jade tattoos at FLT Tattoo Studio in Hamilton. FLT stands for Friendship, Love and Truth. This name reflects the studio’s ethos of creating an honest, friendly, and comfortable studio environment and a unique experience for the client. FLT strives to be an inclusive and safe space for as many people as possible, especially women and marginalised groups such as POC and LGBTQIA+ folk. Jade also contributes to positive social change and environmental relief through participating in charity events and fundraising.

Through her art, Jade explores the inner workings of the subconscious mind, using a ritualistic and mindful approach. She is inspired by the phenomenological and sensory experience within ordinary acts of our daily lives, whether it be dreams, drinking tea, or other subtle happenings and strives to convey these personal experiences through her art.

Jade has contributed artwork to multiple group exhibitions and has curated several pop-up exhibitions. In 2019 Jade delved further into her art practise and pulled together a solo body of work for her first exhibition.

In 2021 She had her second solo exhibition at Onwards Studio.

Her work will be part of a group show at Onwards on 26th November 2022.

Keep an eye on her social media for more art updates.
